I wish to submit the following information to your committee:

Having considered this matter I feel that the quality of transport has declined since privatisation and deregulation of our public transport in the 80’s. For a start we need better information systems and a combined smartcard ticket for all public transport along with new integrated transport policies for Wales. I would suggest that the Assembly look to set up an Integrated Transport Authority for Wales working with residents, traders and communities in Wales to achieve a better integrated Transport Network. Finally, if I was the committee I would arrange a visit to Bristol where an integrated model seems to be working quite well.
